This is how I like my iTunes — with gratuitous album art. Pretty self-explanatory smart playlists, which all feed into Random, so I have 5GB of proportionate music to listen to on my iPhone at all times. Click to see full-size.

    Dennis Wilson - Dreamer

The coolest thing I’ve heard from the Beach Boys since “Little Saint Nick.” This song is super funky. Dennis Wilson was the drummer for the band, and released his first solo album, Pacific Ocean Blue, in 1977. Check out the album art below. Album art for Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue

The Moldy Peaches - The Moldy Peaches

The Moldy Peaches are a duo comprised of Adam Green and Kimya Dawson. Dawson was most recently linked to the soundtrack to the movie Juno. The song featured most prominently in the film, Anyone Else But You, is on The Moldy Peaches 2001 self-titled album. The album is funny and full of short, sweet lo-fi songs about Thundercats and BMX bikes. If you like the track I am featuring today, Lucky Number Nine (which you can play below), you will probably also like Greyhound Bus. If you liked the song from the film better, you will probably also enjoy Nothing Came Out. Click the album cover to check out the MP3 album on Amazon.

    If only this were true.

Wikipedia says: The album was named the “#6 most anticipated album of 2007” by XXL Magazine, but would be pushed back numerous times and a release date is not set of yet.

The album is to be released as a joint venture between Wu-Tang and Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment, though Raekwon has recently been searching for new distribution. Producers are set to include RZA, Dr. Dre, J Dilla, Erick Sermon, Allah Mathematics and DJ Scratch.

In an interview with HipHopDX.com, Raekwon commented on the upcoming album, he said:

It’s damn near 200% done. I wanna drop it on a major, but you’re definitely gonna get it by the summer of next year. By hook or crook. If I gotta do it independent, I gotta release it. I did a lot of hard work on this record and I refuse to throw it out and people be like, Yo Rae, I ain’t know your shit was out. Nah, I can’t afford for that to happen no more. That happened to me on The Lex Diamond Story. That happened to me on Immobilarity. I’m not going for it on this one. I’m not letting the industry control my destiny on this record. People been wanting this record for the last 10 years, so I gotta make sure that this shit is bulletproof.
