Just in case you were unsure about how the creators of the GIF graphics file format intended for you to say it… it’s “jif”.

“The GIF (Graphics Interchange Format), pronounced ‘JIF’, was designed by CompuServe and the official specification released in June of 1987.”

I’ve always said “gif”, as in “gift”.
